Upgrade to Amicus Accounting 2008

Amicus Accounting 2008 is the latest version of our integrated time billing and legal accounting program. With a redesigned graphical interface and a host of new features and enhancements, Amicus Accounting 2008 is intuitive and easy to use. When combined with Amicus Attorney, the seamless integration provides a complete front and back office solution.


What's New in Amicus Accounting 2008


First released in 2006, Amicus Accounting has been updated to include numerous improvements. Listed below are some of the major new features and functionality you'll find in Amicus Accounting 2008:

Record a Receipt for a matter for multiple bills in one step
You can now enter one receipt for a matter with multiple outstanding bills instead of doing a separate receipt for each outstanding invoice.
One step Trust to A/R Transfer
Formerly a three-step process, now you can transfer Trust funds to pay Accounts Receivable in a single step.
New Graphical Interface
Improved graphical interface that makes navigation much easier. The evolution is such that you will still feel comfortable moving through the program, but each module has been improved to make them even more user friendly.
Optional Payroll Integration
Direct integration with an online payroll processing service can optionally be enabled (additional charges apply).
Assign a matter to a new client
You can now change the client on an existing matter quickly and easily. This provides more flexibility and is a great new tool.
Maintain your existing client numbering scheme
In the original release of Amicus Accounting you were not able to change Client and Matter ID information. Subsequent versions of Amicus Accounting now allow you to enable or disable auto numbering of Client and Matter IDs. This means that you can continue to use your existing naming sequences without interruption when using Amicus Accounting.


Added in Service Pack 1

The following new features were added to Amicus Accounting 2008 with the release of Service Pack 1:

General Retainer Feature
Manage General Retainers on client files. Track a minimum Retainer Balance for matters and have access to the bills detailed replenishment amount as the Retainer is used. Automatically have Bills apply Retainer Balances against AR. The minimum Retainer Billing feature is also available for Trust Retainers.

Track Receipt & Check Types
You can now specify the type of transaction (i.e. cash, check) for receipts to your bank account. Amicus Accounting now handles non-check cash inflows and outflows.
Expanded Billing Templates
New Billing Templates include:
- General Retainer payment applications
- Retainer Replenishment Request
- Itemized Payment Details
Improved Reports
Billable Time by Lawyer Report - now details individual time entries both billable and non billable. Entries include time entry descriptions and the billable status of the entry.
Receipt Journal Report
New Bill Journal
Provides a useful list of client bills/invoices your firm has generated with separate columns for Fees, Expanses, Taxes, Total billed, Receipts, Write offs, and Balance (Accounts Receivables). This report is useful for getting a list of bills or as an A/R report for a specific client.


Canadian Specific Additions

A Canadian version of Amicus Accounting is now available. This new version features a number of Canadian-specific additions to meet the unique requirements across the country. Listed below are the features added for Canadian customers:

Amicus Accounting helps you manage all your unique Canadian Trust Accounting obligations.

Amicus Accounting prints on CPA compatible cheques. You can even order them directly through the web.
